A Training on Using Community Radio for Peace Building
Isis International - Manila and Mindanao Women Writers
The training seeks to enhance the crucial role media plays in conflict resolution and peace building in Mindanao.
In particular, it will:
-
stress the importance of community media, in particular radio, as a tool for peace building
-
elaborate on the contribution of women to conflict resolution, particularly in Mindanao, and how media has promoted women's active participation in peace initiatives; and
- explore other creative ideas and strategies on how women – through media – can build peace in the context of existing direct and structural forms of violence
The training looks at content development, skills building in radio production and self-care strategies for women journalists.
