In summary, a comparison across lesbian, bisexual, and transgender women’s issues is presented for each life sphere of the ecological model. The shared issues for LBT persons and the issues unique to each group are noted. The issues for the self and relationships or microcontexts are presented first. This is followed by the sphere of work and the sphere of social institutions and macro-contexts. The strategies for these spheres are then presented. The issues and strategies specific to the LGBT movement and to the feminist movement are presented at the end of the section.
2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution (UNSCR) 1325 on women, peace and security. It is also the year that the Philippines launched its National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325 making it the second country in the Asia Pacific region to formalise its commitment to the implementation of UNSCR 1325 through a concrete national action plan. Despite progress achieved through the efforts made by government, civil societies and women's groups and communities that have been affected by war and armed conflict, it is a reality that community, local government, media and even some civil society groups remain unaware of UNSCR 1325, let alone UNSCR 1820, 1888 and 1889, the other relevant UN resolutions regarding women in peace building.
With financial support from ICCO, Isis International recently concluded a two year two country project entitled “Cultural Politics of Peace and Conflict: strategising and capacity building for the Philippines and Indonesia”, June 2008-May 2010. The project aimed to help create an enabling environment where women can actively participate in and significantly contribute to peace and conflict resolution processes; and to build the capacities of women in peace building processes.

Women have a larger role in community radio than any other form of media. Easy to use, easy to access and low in cost, community radio helps women's voices be heard in countries as diverse as Afghanistan and Australia. However, even the community radio sector is far from achieving equality for men and women.
This is a 20-page primer on gender fairness aimed at aiding Philippine-based business support organisations and the volunteer business advisors in addressing aspects of management and business operations that can be enhanced through gender-fair business practice. The primer provides specific strategies and resources for the actual practice of gender-fairness in business settings. It synthesises material on topics such as hiring, sexual harassment, leadership training, to advocate for gender fairness in the workplace. This primer was written as part of the Gender Fairness as Good Business project with PEARL2, which is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency's efforts to promote the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises in the Philippines.
