Red Nacional de Mujeres, Colombia
Quintero talks about her experiences in implementing UNSCR 1325 on the ground. Quintero focuses her discussion on key issues experienced by women in armed conflict in Columbia, including the lack of participation of women in the formal peace process; the lack of protection of women and girls in situations of armed conflict, and the massive displacement of women and girls. She notes that 1325 has been ratified by the Colombian governement and has been integrated into its Justice and Peace law but is currently not being implemented. She presents proposals and recommendations towards the full implementation of 1325 in her country.
