International Women’s Summit: Women’s Leadership on HIV and AIDS

The International Women’s Summit: Women’s Leadership on HIV and AIDS, which will take place in Nairobi, Kenya on July 4-7, 2007, aims to:
– Highlight the difference women’s leadership is making in response to HIV and AIDS by making visible African and young women’s leadership at grassroots and community levels, and at national, regional, and international levels;
– Build the capacity of leaders and their organisations in undertaking sustainable programmes that address cutting-edge issues;
– Raise awareness and mobilise the women’s movement on HIV and AIDS and crosscutting issues, and produce evidence required to effect change at all levels in society; and
– Provide space for networking and building strategic partnerships to broaden the impact of responses to HIV and AIDS at all levels.

4th Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights

With the theme “Exploring New Frontiers in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights,” the Fourth Asia Pacific Conference on Reproductive and Sexual Health and Rights (APCRSH) will be held at the International Convention Centre in Hyderabad, India from October 29-31, 2007.

The conference will provide a platform for people with diverse perspectives, expertise, and experience to exchange ideas, discuss and debate issues of concern, and learn from each other about sexual and reproductive health and rights, specifically to:
– Enhance understanding of the elements and principles for right-based programming on sexual and reproductive health in the Asia Pacific region;
– Develop newer discourses to inform future research and programming to address sexual and reproductive health needs from the perspective of young people, including adolescents; and
– Engage multiple stakeholders in advocacy to reinforce the centrality of sexual and reproductive health for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.

Deadline for submission of abstract is on May 31, 2007.
