Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Warm greetings from London.

On the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, English section of ZananTV  (Iranian Women's Alternative E-broadcasting) has been updated with the following items.

Stoning, Symbol of State's Violence

In the summer of 2010 the sentence of death by stoning passed on Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiyani became a daily topic of the world's media. In just a few weeks Sakineh becomes the symbol of the Islamic Republic's brutality and there were many different campaigns and protests held for her release in Europe and the United States. This documentary-film investigates her case and the controversy around it.

Are you shocked? FGM in Europe

This report not only investigates Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) effects on the victims but also different methods of sexual pleasure, which provide solutions for many women.

Blood Enough (Khoon-bas)

Khoon-bas is an old practice in some rural parts of Iran.  In case of a dispute between two tribes or families followed by death of one or more people, wise-men arrange a marriage between a girl from the murderer's close relatives with a murdered family member in order to stop the bloodshed.

We would be grateful to hear your feedbacks on the items and also your general suggestions.

If our update e-mails are causing any inconvenience, please do not hesitate to e-mail me in order to unsubscribe you.
