Friend --
Typhoon Haiyan – one of the strongest storms in recorded history – devastated entire communities in the Philippines, killing thousands and leaving many homeless.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the estimated 10 million affected and to all those who have lost loved ones. Women in the Philippines need our help now more than ever.
Grantee partners tell us that the need is desperate and the scale of destruction and loss is unprecedented. Many in the affected areas, still reeling from an earthquake that struck on October 15, have lost everything.
Transportation has been made problematic at best and impossible at worst to the affected areas. Electrical and telecommunication lines have been destroyed. Basic needs such as water and food have been inaccessible to the affected people. Entire villages were flattened and many houses were destroyed. A general state of tumult has ensued as a result of this catastrophe. -Liza L. Maza of Philippine grantee partner, Working for Empowerment and Good Governance Institute Inc. (WeGovern).
Your help is urgently needed so our grantees can deliver local on-the-ground support to women and children in need.
At times of crisis women and children are disproportionately affected. Our local partners in the Philippines know the quickest and most effective ways to assist and protect women. They also ensure that women play a central role in the relief response. Women’s organizations need your support now to meet critical needs for food and medicine and rebuild their communities.
Your emergency donation today will help women storm survivors in the Philippines. Please give generously.
With gratitude for your compassion,
