Research Action and Information Network for Bodily Integrity of Women Sub Granting Initiative

The Research Action and Information Network for Bodily Integrity of Women (RAINBO), with its Small Grants Project, provides modest funds and technical assistance to African NGOs that might not otherwise have access to mainstream sources of funding. An African-led international NGO, RAINBO is working on issues of women’s empowerment, gender, reproductive health, sexual autonomy, and freedom from violence as central components of the African development agenda

The sub granting project aims to:
- support effective and innovative projects that combat female circumcision (FC)/female genital mutilation (FGM);
- strengthen the institutional capacity of African NGOs working on the issue FC/FGM as part of advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women and girls; and
- expand collaborative relationships among NGOs, activists, academics and researchers in Africa.
